World Health Day 2022

04/07/2022

Today is World Health Day, and the theme for 2022 is “Our Planet Our Health”.

Every day we make choices about our health, whether that’s about nutrition, the vitamins we take or how active we are. Health does not stop there though, it’s also about our planet - the air we breathe and our ecosystems all impact our health.

Improving your health is our mission and doing it in a sustainable way that is kind to our planet is also at the heart of our goal. In a pledge to support those ecosystems and clean air we promise that all our packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Your first delivery of supplements arrives in a reusable glass bottle and then further orders of supplements are packaged in compostable sachets (see picture) and all outer packaging is 100% recyclable too.

In a further commitment to giving back, we plant a tree for every new customer that comes on board to help our CO2 footprint. We also ensure all ingredients are sourced sustainably to preserve all the eco-systems of where the ingredients come from.

As well as you knowing that we have your back with the sustainability of your vitamins, there are also some things you can do at home to help your health and our planet:

• Choosing foods that are local and in season is a great way to support your local growers but also reduce your carbon footprint. Eating seasonally also has lots of nutritional benefits. An easy way to do this is order a veg box from a local supplier. This is also a great way to challenge yourself with new ingredients as each week you often don’t know what you are going to get!

• Be mindful of the packaging your food comes in, can you recycle it or could you reduce it in any way? Taking your own reusable food bags to put fruit and vegetables in is a great step. Go the extra mile if you can and seek out a plastic free shop in your area and take your own reusable containers.

• Switch your cleaning products from chemicals to natural ingredients. Not only does this reduce the toxicity of the planet but also the toxic burden on your body.

• Reduce your food waste by planning your meals. Planning encourages you to not only buy what you need but it will also be a positive step towards your health if you focus on home cooked meals with unprocessed ingredients.

This is not an exhaustive list, there are many more things you can do that can work within your lifestyle and budget. Start small, every little helps our health and our planet!
